What is endodontics: root canal treatment?
The infected pulp is removed, the root canals are cleaned and shaped, and the space is filled and sealed. A crown may later be needed when the tooth is substantially weakened.
02 · Clinical purpose
Why might a dentist recommend it?
It may be recommended for pain or infection caused by deep decay, a crack, trauma or an abscess, where the tooth is otherwise suitable to save.
Suitability comes first. A dentist should assess your oral health, explain reasonable alternatives and confirm the proposed plan before travel is finalised.
